Why The Name Windfarm
We chose the image of a wind turbine because it speaks to our alternative ideas and the fact that we believe in the power of simplicity. It alludes to our forward-thinking technology, and how we operate with reliable efficiency. We also aim to be an environmentally responsible company, incorporating recycling and biking to work whenever possible.
Windfarm is our little spin on the web.
Founder One Joel Taylor
Joel is from the small, but beautiful country of New Zealand (dangerously close to Antarctica, and its floating remnants in the Pacific Ocean). His love of all things tech began in earnest when he taught himself Flash and web technology just after graduating high school. Farming by day and learning design and technology by night, he soon learned that working in a cushy chair and clean office suited was much better, and started his own graphics shop in 1999.
He came to the US in 2004 to work as an email marketing manager for an eCommerce startup. He’s also worked as a web and user interface designer, the lead developer at an internet marketing agency, and a Zend PHP5 certified developer. When he’s not building with code and bringing applications to life online, he’s playing rugby, banging on the drums and bikejoring his Husky.
Founder Two Melissa Taylor
Melissa has worked on internet marketing campaigns of all shapes and sizes, from email marketing to SEO, social media, and large scale web development. She has experience as an account manager, web analyst, and marketing specialist with a knack for mathematics and technology.
Melissa is passionate about becoming a student of clients and their business, striving for the best possible communication solutions, and continually growing her skill set in this culture of ever-changing internet technology. In those rare moments when she’s off-duty, Melissa enjoys reading, fitness and biking, cooking and getting involved in her community.
